Meet Rich
Hi! I’m Richard, a visually impaired athlete, coach and member of the GB Climbing Team. How did it turn out like this? Well, let me explain.
In 2015, my eyesight started to deteriorate. I was a manager at Rolls Royce until 2020, when I was forced to retire, as my sight loss was making it difficult for me to do my job.
For many people this may sound like a massive setback, but I beg to differ. After my eyesight started to deteriorate, I could finally take my hobby as a climber to the next level.
Fast forward to today, I am a sports coach for people of all abilities, with several international competitions under my belt and a contagious level of enthusiasm.
